Lidia’s Mid-Week: Cypress Wood Falls and Whyte Lake loop, Dec 14, 2020 was terrific once you found the parking spot.

Driving through British Properties Exit 4 there was Woodglen Place, Drive, Court, and Woodgreen Pl., Dr., Ct, and Woodburn Pl., Dr., Ct. There were a few other Wood names that I have purposely put out of my mind. What is wrong with these people, can’t they come up with alternate names for streets? We get the point – these were once woods. Driving around in circles in the fog was no fun at all, until Wendy showed up and I was lost with someone else.

Together we found the parking spot (which had always been there) and five of us started walking into the enchanted forest. One person didn’t show, which is a ‘no no’ these days; with such limited numbers you just have to cancel the night before so someone else can hike.

The day was off and on rain spray and the light was terrific. By noon we were at Whyte Lake. On the way back we met many people, with many dogs, and most of them were white. One woman was crying out for her lost dog. There were exquisite white streams of sunlight shining through the trees. And we made it back to my white car by 2:30pm.
