This A-hike started at the trailhead at about 8:15 with 4 hikers. Shortly after starting, we broke into two groups. Three of us went to the lake, while the leader went back to the parking lot to meet with a hiker who had missed the exit (a common mistake for this trailhead). It was clear and warm while Group 1 waited on the dock, and one of us decided to swim. When Group 2 arrived, nobody was ready to go back. It had been a 45 minute walk. So, Fern led us to West Knob, aka Donut Rock. It was more challenging than most of us expected, but we all appreciated the adrenaline rush. When we arrived at the top, it was misty. It cleared up giving a wonderful view of UBC and Garner Mountain. We arrived back at the trailhead shortly after 14:00, making this a B-hike. Thanks, Fern!
