With an ancient forest underfoot, eight of us hiked in the Nelson Canyon watershed with the sounds of the Nelson creek below, to Whyte Lake to be greeted by others enjoying the lovely surroundings that included an otter for entertainment. After walking around some of the lake, we ascended a nameless trail to connect us with the Baden Powell trail, then began our descent to the Seaview trail with views of Eagle Island and the sea beyond. About 11km and 300m elevation. Welcome to our two new members and two guests. For the complete loop map, go to the following link.
