If I put a trip on the schedule; and nobody comes; and I still do it: is it a NSH trip?
The forecast was for rain and it was pouring when I left Vancouver. When I got to Lions Bay however, it was snowing. A lot better than rain. And then half an hour later it stopped. And by the time I reached the ridge there was the odd bit of blue.
But I didn’t find this an interesting trip. It was 7.5k of logging road travel, and then a good trail to the Hat/Wettin col. Then a fairly level broad ridge walk north for .75k to the peak. There were lookouts off the trail, and views along the ridge. But the surrounding peaks are higher and steeper; and the forest on route isn’t as nice, as on adjacent peaks.
There was about a foot of fresh powder higher up, and it took 7 1/2hrs to reach the summit; and 3hrs to descend.
