Fern has delivered the hike exactly what she described:
“A beautiful well trodden and popular trail to Whyte Lake, from the lake to West Knob the forest is more tranquil and there are some short climbs and a short steep ascent to the top. Lunch will be at the top of the Knob on large rocks overlooking the water and Bowen Island
Distance approximately 9km, Elevation 655m
About 5.5 hours at a relaxed pace, some short climbs but generally a gentle climbing grade”
Nine of us met at the small Whyte Lake parking lot and every car got a parking spot as our leader timed it right before the crowds came in.
IT’s a very good hike with great company … pace is comfortable for everyone and we even finished it just over 5 hours (still a “B” Hike <g>) with a relaxing 45 minutes lunch under blue skies with unlimited visibility.
Thank you Fern!!! Katy
