Thank you Jayne for leading this last minutes hike on turn-the-clock back Sunday morning. Five of us met at St David’s 8:00 am and headed out to Westport Road parking lot for Whyte Lake.
The 12 km (just over 5 hours hike) with 700m+ to our final destination, West Knob was definitely enjoyable and well worth the efforts. The extensive forest we passed through and the last 60m adrenaline climb at the end to reach the lookout were rewarded with clear views to Bowen Island and beyond.
We had the pleasure to share the lunch spot with three other hikers and one is our regular NSH! They have arrived just minutes before us to claim the prime spot!
It’s a lovely short day hike that we were all back at home before 3 pm with very light traffic across the bridges!

I’m interested on more details on how you accessed the West Knob. Did you hike towards Whyte Lake then take a turnoff somewhere. Sounds like interesting hike to try.
