I switched the Mt Ross attempt to a peak 1.5k ne of Mt Rohr (off the Duffey Lk road), named Niche Pk (by Bivouac.com). Six of us met in Pemberton at 6:00am, and started the attempt shortly after 8:00am. I soon led us up the wrong frozen creek. The higher we got the more puzzled I became. When I finally figured things out, it wasn’t so easy to get to Niche Pk. However, serendipity. The peak we were next to, Wag Pk, just as high, turned out to be challenging (with 60 degree snow; and class 3 scrambling), and was a huge amount of fun.
