September 10-13, 2014
Ryszard’s Tundra Lake backpack became a hike to Tenquille Lake’s five-star cabin. 12 Branch gravel Road gave president Beth’s vehicle a challenge of forty deep bumps. It would have been faster walking and less worrisome. Once out of the Forrester we backpacked four hours to the well-appointed cabin.
We dumped our stuff and had an hour walk around the jewelled lake. The four of us slept on foam mattresses as if we owned the place. The next day we hiked up Finch Ridge and the next Mt. Macleod. Mack bagged Tenquille Peak and Ryszard and I walked up Copper Mound.
The Mountains around Pemberton have minerals. Beth was loving the quartz. But we couldn’t find the mine site.
There’s great hiking around those hills Vancouverites, if you are willing to drive past Whistler and put a pack on your back. The weather couldn’t have been better, the almost full harvest moon, the stars bright. No we didn’t see the Northern Lights but a group of young Australians offered us lots of booze. And that lake. Oh that lake.Report by Patricia M.

Few my pictures can be viewed there:
