Nine hikers signed up and 8 showed up at the trail head. We met at 7:45 am to catch the few free parking spaces still on offer. We had both new and seasoned members on this trip and it was a great group of keeners. We bushwhacked to the last surviving ancient tree as well as hiked to the very base of Norvan Falls. No one in our group had done that before and it was a surprise to find a man swimming next to the waterfall. We talked about the dangers of swimming right under a waterfall as rocks and tree debris can fall on your head! The misty waterfall definitely reminded me of my many waterfall swims in Hawaii. The delightful trip was almost 19 km, 450+ m elevation gain and took 6 hours included wc and snack breaks.
