Thank you to Shamin Shivji who led her first hike for the North Shore Hikers. Five north Shore hikers did the Yew Lake Loop Trail and Bowen Lookout today. Shamin also led us further up the Howe Sound Crest trail to get views of the Lions. At Bowen Look out we were met with whiskey jackets (scrub jays) and two stellar jays. We had low cloud with limited visibility for the entire hike but thankfully no rain. There was some snow on the ground and slippery in some areas.
The park rangers were busy removing hiking trail signage and clearing and widening the trail for the upcoming snowshoe season on the Howe Sound Crest trail in preparation for the winter months.
Great company and good hike. Thank you Shamin for leading this lovely hike and we look forward to you leading other trips for the club.
