    Rohr Mtn. Backpack, October 2 – 4

No one could join me on Friday, so I started up by myself around noon. Was raining in the morning but sun came out in mid day and I hoped for a good weather. Spirits of Marriott and Rohr mountains had another plans for me though. After an hour of hiking up, they played me some Wagner music with thunders amplified by echo, then they washed me with heavy rain. But I guess it was just a test, to add some more fun to the trip, as the rain stopped before my camp was ready and winds came chasing clouds away. When I got out of my tent at midnight, I was already under the clear sky and lights of Milky Way.

Iveta, Ivana and Albin joined me late in the morning on Saturday. We hanged their food and started climbing Mt. Rohr. Beautiful hiking weather, blue sky, sun and light breeze. We had a long lunch break at the top, admiring 360 degree views, Joffre glacier and autumn colours of valleys.

We got back to the camp around 17:30, had dinner and then shared a lot of hiking stories around the camp fire.

Sunday was another beautiful hiking day. Blue sky and a lot of sun again. We climbed a ridge on the north side of Rohr lake, one connecting Rohr valley with Marriott Basin. We were back at the camp early afternoon to pack our stuff up and head down.
