September 22, 2014 at 1:39 pm #3973Katy PoonKeymasterThank you Roger for leading us on the hike and herding twenty wild souls in and out the Hanes Valley. Nine went off earlier and faster to head up to the Goat. They were soon out of sight before the rest of us reaching the helicopter pad for our lunch. We missed the sun that had moved behind the trees at the top. This made the climb up to the saddle not as hot. Once we got out the valley, two mighty souls had extra energy to went up the Crown – what a way to end the day hike with magnificent views from the top. The remaining nine of us made our way back to the parking lot with another split up! Five hurried down to some other commitments of the day despite a delay in the gondola ride. All in all, this is a great day of hiking and Roger is an excellent leader keeping everyone happy in their own paces. Bravo Roger! Katy
