Another great hike/camp/name that plant Leslie trip.
She rocks.
Monday was good weather as we walked to Poland Lake after bagging 3 non reserved campsites in Manning Park’s Cold Springs Campground. A little snow near Poland Lake and meadows of yellow avalanche lilies with their heads facing every which way. Chocolate lilies, lupins , bunch berries, wild rhododendrons and much more that I can’t remember.
Tuesday was cloudy with some rain. A walk by Lightening lakes showed a live tree eaten by a beaver, a pair of loons, a family in a canoe. A few of us walked further onto the Skyline Divide which revealed a burn in the midst. We turned around in the chilly rain. Gotta go back for some more alpine flowers in the next 3 weeks in Manning.
