12 people originally signed up and 6 hikers showed up. The 50% dropout was because of the forecast of cold temperatures and recent snow fall in the alpine.
After Taylor meadows, there were patches of fresh snow and on the ridge, it was a solid 4″ and in wind drift areas it was 24″ deep. This hike is always like a Tokyo subway station – crowed on the snowy slope, crowded on the summit with a long queue waiting to descend. It is on everyone’s bucket list because of social media. The views to azure colour Garibaldi lake and surrounding glaciers are iconic.
Thanks to a great team that were determined to summit, despite the snow. I enjoyed their positivity and adventurous enthusiasm.
Trip stats: 10 hours hike, the temperature at summit 3C, 27 km return.
