Thank you and Congratulations to Phyllis for leading her first NSH hike to Hollyburn Peak.  It’s excellent!

Six members and one guest went up on summer (BP) and winter (SS) trails on a cloudy day.  It’s a typical fall day with high and low clouds lingering on the mountains.   However, we are lucky enough to have a few peek-a-boo views.

The trails are muddy and rooty as expected.   The group is able to maneuver at a leisurely pace.   We took time to enjoy the picturesque settings in the forest… the frosty tarns in the red blueberries branches backdrop with the golden yellow fallen leaves around them.

There are a few snow patches on the top.  We were greeted by the whiskey jacks aiming at our lunches.  They made a few attempts then waited patiently on the top the trees.   We were all dressed warmly and took our time to savour our teas.   We had the peak all to ourselves until another group of hikers came and started taking selfies <g>

We were back to our parked car just before the rain… what’s a great timing!

Thank you all for a great fall hike before the snow!!   Katy
