Isabeau made a good call and did a last minute switch from Sunday, to Saturday. The weather was cool and sunny, whereas the prediction for Sunday was iffy.
8 NSH members met at the trailhead and departed on time at 8:45. We were joined by a guest shortly after we started. The trails were quite muddy, the roots were slippery and the streams were running enthusiastically, made jumping across them a little tricky.
The mist turned to a light drizzle from time to time.
It was clear and dry when we stopped for lunch at the base of the always spectacular falls.
Two hikers signed out early, meaning we returned as a group of 7.
There was a short period of hail on the way back, which got the many dogs on the trail excited.
We arrived at the trailhead shortly after 14:00.
The hike is described as 13.8 km. According to the devices that some of the hikers were wearing, it was between 16 and 17 km.
Great day, Isabeau!
