Member6 adventuresome riders enjoyed a lovely summer’s day ride all over the backroads, trails and neighbourhoods of North Vancouver. Lower Seymour Conservation area was the ideal place to ride with its shady, rolling, quiet road to the dam, where we were rewarded with great views from the gazebo during our ½ lunch break. This destination was new to 3 of the 6 riders and sure to be a favourite for future rides. We braved the newly oiled fresh gravel on Lynn Canyon Park Road, followed by a smooth ride on the Green Necklace. A short ride westbound along the protected shoulder of Highway 1, then under it through a giant culvert on Phillip Avenue got us to Edgemont Village, where we enjoyed our 2nd ½ lunch. We coasted downhill along Mosquito Creek to the Spirit Trail, where ½ the group turned westward for the Lions Gate Bridge and the other ½ eastward back towards the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge and the start of our adventure. Thanks to a very compatible group of participants for a really nice day!
