New West Quay Cycle – Monday, Feb. 13, 2017

What a beautiful day!  6 fearless riders set out from Gilmore and Dawson at 10am and, within a block or two, had to take our first detour from the slushy Greenway trail onto the road.  We were soon back on the trail and the good conditions lasted right up until the we came to the trail alongside the Brunette River near Cariboo Road.  That trail was completely covered in crusty snow, so we took the road (with a good shoulder) to Hume Park, then back onto the Greenway.  Everyone and their dogs were out at the Quay for Family Day in the sunshine!  We had never seen it so busy there – even in summer.  After a pleasant break re-fueling at the Quay, we headed homeward along the BC Parkway (mostly clear of snow and dry) to Sea to River back to our starting point.  Good weather, good group and a good ride.  It just doesn’t get much better than that!  Thanks to Chris, Frank, Jeannie, Larry and Len for sharing the ride.
