MemberThanks to Steve for leading us on this hike! Nineteen of us were ready for snowshoeing above the clouds to catch the sun. We hiked through First Lake, Second Lake, Hidden Lake and view point. After lunch, we stop by North Shore Mountain Rescue hut. It was lovely day. Please check my pics from the following link:

MemberWe were at the NSSAR cabin just hours before Tim Jones died on the trail from the cabin. One of the team was in the cabin, and told us about his rescue (Tim Jones coordinated it) from Mt. Logan about 10 years ago. This man lost the distal segments of all his fingers from frostbite, but all three team members were successfully rescued.

MemberI found the news about rescuing the climbers from Mt Logan in 2005: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/climbers-rescued-from-mount-logan-1.542809

MemberFunny that search and rescue guy we met in the hut, told us it was -90C outside the snow cave and -30C inside the snow cave. The news article said it was only -30C outside on Mt. Logan.
I guess the truth lies somewhere in between his story and the newpaper lines.
