KeymasterNine North Shore Hikers came out for the Mt. Galiano loop trail today. We had great views on the Bluffs and Mt. Galiano. There weren’t a lot of people on the trail today. It did not rain during the entire trip. However, it was windy on top of Mt. Galiano.
Galiano Soap Works received good business from North Shore Hiker members as usual. Although no one had time to look into purchasing the iconic Hummingbird Pub that’s for sale. Great company. Thanks everyone for coming out for the hike. Carol

KeymasterThank you Carol for coordinating and leading the trip to Galiano Island. It’s a great B hike with a solid 7 hours moving time. Based on my iPhone stats, we did 22.9 km (please correct me if I am wrong) with 314m elevation gain to the summit plus some accumulative ups and downs of +/-100m. The views at the Bluffs Lookout are definitely not to be missed even adding another elevation gain of 153m!
I totally enjoyed the trip, the ferry ride, the bluffs view, the Japanese charcoal pit kiln (https://galianoclub.org/club-programs/parks/pit-kiln/), the summit to Mount Galiano, the exploring of the Galiano trails, and my shopping at the Soap Factory!!
Without hesitation, as long as the weather cooperates, I will do this trip again and again. Please make it a regular (B Hike including Mount Galiano) on the schedule. It’s a great escape from the hustle and bustle in town. A moderate workout with two great views.
We ALL made it back to the ferry and the rain was holding off on the island for us. I heard that it’s raining in town and we luck out with just the wind on the summit!
It’s a wonderful day.. thank you Carol and everyone who come and join me. Happy NSH hiking!!!
