Six of us started to hike around 11:00 am at the trailhead (on Lost Creek Forest Service Road). We had our first stop by the lake (McKay lake) around 12:30 pm. We reached to the peak around 1:40 pm. When we arrived to the parking area, it was around 5 pm. The elevation gain is 1000 m. Thank you Siegfried for leading us on this hike…
Apparently, there is a Benedictine Monastery above the town of Mission. Monks from that monastery were active around the area. One of the groups is responsible for the official name of the mountain.
