MemberBig thank you goes to Patricia, who volunteered to write about our hiking trip:
………….
BengĂŒlâs Team Building Exercise @ Mt. Gardner
5 folks took the 257 Express to Horseshoe Bay
1 was driven
2 drove and parked @ Angelaâs house for the dayKatyâs collaboration got us to Blenz for good coffee before the ferry.
Patricia couldnât get over kicking herself for having no ID to prove she was a senior resident therefore had to pay for the trip.
Pamâs debit card was challenged and she had to pay with cash. She trusted the group to take her on a scary bus ride home.
BengĂŒl led the group and shared flowers, especially the orchids.
Andreaâs new soles (souls) performed very well. She kept the group updated.
Lynne and Rick both born and bred in the lower mainland allowed to group to take them out of their comfort zone to island time on Bowen. At the intersection of where Killarney Creek and Aldergrove trails met there was a parking lot and two poles remained without a hiker for the duration of our hike. On the groups return at 14:21 hours, Michelle opened the outhouse door that showed the âvacantâ sign. Immediately she was yelled at âWhat the Fk are you doing? Fk you I am in here. Fkity, fk, fk.â The young blonde came out the outhouse and said, âYour all fkers. â This must have been a role play to see what the group would do. There is no other explanation for this bizarre behaviour on laid back Bowen island in the rain forest on a sunny warm Tuesday in late May.
The group proceeded down Killarnay Creek and and Meadow trail to another outhouse (at Terminal Creek Fish Hatchery). On the way they came across a deer in the path. Again they proceeded along the trail. The tightly knit group was rewarded for its amazing courage and resilience with ice cream but no beer.
