Five NSH and one guest met at F+K Saturday morning and drove to Manning Park. Two others drove up later in the day and met up with us in the campground.
The campsites were very busy due to the great weather and Covid 19. You cannot reserve a campsite after Sept 13 so unfortunately we were not able to get adjacent sites in the Coldspring campground.
Four of us hiked around Lightening Lakes to Strike Camp Saturday afternoon. Not too many people on the trail and beautiful golden fall colors.
After seeing ++ cars parked along the Gibson’s Pass road and being told there were over 600 people on the Mount Frosty trail Saturday, we decided to go somewhere quieter on Sunday. Five of us hiked the Heather Trail to First Brother. Two decided to hike to Second Brother while the rest of us started back to the car. The foliage in the meadows was ablaze with color – beautiful red, orange, gold. Even saw some golden Larch trees from a distance from the Brothers.
