Five North Shore Hikers and one lone beagle (who is a new member of the North Shore Hikers), attended the Minnehkada Park Loop Hike. Conditions were very hazy due to the smoke from the forest fire near Hope.
At the parking lot, just as we were getting ready to start the hike, two small black bears appeared in the parking lot and checked us out and then moved on. One was approximately a year old and they other one a baby bear. The loop trail took which was 9.5 km, 368 metres cumulative elevation, took us approximately four hours, with breaks at the High Knoll and Addington Lookout. Views were limited due to the smoke. For three of the hikers and the beagle it was their first time doing the Minnehkada loop trail. Photos to follow.
