We did it. We summited Lone Goat via Skyline Ridge. Several of us (me, in the main) wondered if we could get there but all eight of us made it. There was a storm coming in with wisps of dark cloud swirling around our ankles as we beat a hasty retreat. We admired the spectacular views for only a few minutes before racing to get down before the storm. Lots of snow on Skyline at a lower altitude than we expected, necessitating spikes. The snow was firm in the morning but quite slippy in the afternoon sun. Several of us had a few unplanned bum plants and even some unexpected toboggan rides.
