Ten North Shore hikers attended Michelle Fryer’s Killarney Lake hike today. It was Michelle’s first hike as a leader and unbelievably we all ended up back at the ferry at the end of the hike. She didn’t lose anyone. We had three brand new members on the hike, two were recruited at Lynn Headwaters last weekend by Cristina and Ramona.
We got to the end of the lake and took numerous photos of a Barred Owl. Michelle heard the owl; Jayne saw it flying and Brent latter spotted the big Barred owl in a tree even though it blended in with the trees. Michelle also led the extension up to Dorman point. Some of the hikers had ice cream and enjoyed the sunshine at the end of the hike by the ferry terminal. There was also some retail therapy at the end of the hike. We had pleasant weather the entire day. The hike was a good hike for seasoned and beginner hikers. New friends were made.
Thank you, Michelle, for leading this fun and great hike for the club. We look forward to more of your trips.
