9 people met for our hike to Kennedy falls at the top of Mountain Highway yesterday. We had a couple of fairly new NSH hikers in the group, and one guest member , who says she is now going to join!
The hike was a pleasant , mostly wooded walk , with a few dried up creek beds to traverse. At about the halfway point there is an old cedar , that has been surrounded by a wooden fence . At one point there is a chain to assist descent/ assent of a short steep section.
45 minutes later we reached our destination, Kennedy Falls, a magnificent towering waterfall, with a couple of deep pools beneath it.
The return distance for this hike was 10.6km, with just a 432m elevation gain, although it felt like more with a lot of up and down.
