Seven NSH met at Templeton Station at Canada Line.
Thank you David for planning an easy leisure ride in this heat wave condition.
The ride from the meeting pointing to Iona Beach was merely 30-45 minutes depending for the pace.
Unfortunately….. we were under the open sun longer than we wanted!
First, I had a flat tire to change, then had to stop again to release the chain when it was stuck… what a luck!!!
At Iona beach, there were not many shady spots that we could hide ourselves from the sun. We just took a brief break and everyone decided to return to the skytrain station. On the way back, we made a short detour to MacDonald Beach. Then, there was an uneventful easy slow pace ride back to the meeting point. We finished the ride just over 2 hours.
I would like to thank Ye, Mark and Carol to help fixing my flat tire. I really appreciate the group staying around to support even in the full intense sun. This shows riding in a group is the right thing to do. Thank you all!
Ye is an expert in changing the flat tire and did it swiftly.. I would highly recommend a Bike Maintenance 101. Katy
