HSCT Xover- Lions Bay to Porteau Cove, Aug 19th ’21
8 hikers in 6 vehicles met at Porteau Cove parking lot around 8:15 am. Everyone was comfortable with carpooling (wearing masks) to Lions Bay in 2 vehicles, parked at trailhead (pay parking $24/day) Started hike around 8:45am, staying together until turn off for Brunswick. We next all met up at HSCT junction and proceeded to Brunswick lake for lunch, with cloudy sky and 17 degrees temp no one was tempted to take a dip. Headed north around 1:30pm, with brief stop at Hanover lake to admire its beautiful turquoise colour. Stopped for a while at Deeks lake, snacking etc. before descending down to Porteau Cove parking lot between 5 to 5:30 pm., and then picking up the 2 vehicles from Lions Bay.
Seems like we all enjoyed hiking on this beautiful section of the Howe Sound Crest Trail which can be even more spectacular on a sunny day.
Thanks to all, your participation made for a great day!
