Five of us met at 11:00 for this last minute hike. The weather was like a mid-summer day, and the skies were clear, despite the smoke in the city. We started at the winter access, which had been cleared. There were some muddy areas, but easy to cross. Berries were abundant, and some of the leaves had started to change. We passed very few other hikers, of which quite a few had dogs with them. We had lunch at the top with no other people, but very friendly Whiskey Jacks. Although clear at the top, the views were not as spectacular as usual because of the haze. We did a loop back, ending up at the cross-county ski area at about 15:00. Much thanks to Mark for a very enjoyable day.
