A very diverse group of 15 north shore hikers turned up on this Father’s Day hike. Newly minted members and veteran club members. Age range from the 20’s to the 70’s. At least eight different countries of origin other than Canada. Trooped through three summits: 1, 2 and then 3. One hiker discovered that she had forgotten her hiking boots only after she had driven to the Shannon Falls parking lot. Unbeknownst to the rest of us, she drove home and drove back with her boots, raced up the trail, and showed up while we were lunching on 2nd peak. All made it back to the parking lot, happy, together, in one piece, with endorphins flowing.

Mack, I briefly considered your suggestion of switching the hike to Shannon Falls. Considering that the group was primed to do the Chief, and considering that Dennis was to lead Upper Shannon Falls the following weekend (tomorrow), I decided not. It was crowded, but it was fun.

Here’s a link to pictures. The pictures are taken on the recce hike with another club, and the actual hike itself, one month apart.
