Five of us met at Grouse gondola base station Starbucks and started hiking about 10:15am. As an alternative to the Grind and the BCMC trail, we chose the Mackay Creek trail. It’s less travelled and harder to follow, but easy enough with several pairs of eyes.
The trail climbs to the base station of the Screaming Eagle ski lift, at the bottom of The Cut ski run, then becomes the Simic trail, following the ridge to join the top of the BCMC trail. Saw some beautiful purple mushrooms! (photo below)
We took a relaxed pace and chatted the whole way. Sunny weather gave way to clouds, but no rain. A pleasant workout. 🙂
