What a glorious day! I took off part of my work day to celebrate a HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR WITH NSH!
We met at 11 am at Trout lake. We had a leisure bike ride from Trout lake to Burnaby lake, where we sailed by my favourite group of trees (looks like southern France). Then we biked a short distance to Deer lake. We had a nice picnic next to the lake and I gave everyone a fortune(s) cookie (some double dipped) and a lycée (red envelope with a gift inside–symbolizing long life and good luck). I always carry my lycée in my wallet.
After lunch, I suggested a new route to the group and we biked parallel to Deer lake on the upper road and snuck under an over pass to join up with the Deer Lake bike trail which connected to the new Gilmore bike trail. All in all, everyone enjoyed the great views to the lakes, mountains and forests. We got back to Trout lake at 1:45 pm.
(A new member join us today and I think he enjoyed himself as he said he wanted to invite some of his friends for future bike rides).
