Elk Mountain Jul 5 ’21

This was the kind of transcendent hiking that makes the world seem temporarily problem free. A short steep hike up then a walk along the ridge. Across the Chilliwack River valley Tomyhoi glacier, the Border Peaks, Baker. Day lilies, paintbrush, bluebells, valerian, columbines. It was a perfect day. Thanks for leading Bengul.

Actually, for a few of us, the trip was another wake up call to see the effects of the recent heatwave in the lower mainland. The sky was hazy… we saw a lot of died young trees at the top! The flowers were burn (stonecrops)!
Inspite of all these, it was a good hike…
