Dec. 25 Transit-friendly Walk in Richmond (Route Update)

The Christmas Day 12/25 Hike –  the LATEST route  – TRANSIT FRIENDLY! (updated 12/23)

This would work better for anyone who is coming outside of Richmond.  I will finish the walk in 3 hours for planning purposes.. This can be adjusted along the dyke as we can make it shorter for the return to the transit station.

Changes to my original planned route in Steveston  are as follows:

1. We will NOT go to Steveston Village as a meeting/ending point – the bus will take you around Richmond instead of walking 🙂

2. We will meet at Bridgeport Station (9:00 am departure) and return to Lansdowne or the new Capstan station, depending on the time.

3. We will not walk along West Dyke but to go over to the Airport visiting Larry Berg Flight Path Park and return via No. 2 Road bridge, walk past Richmond Olympic Oval and start the returning leg to Lansdowne or Capstan station.

4.  The walk should not be more than 3 hours including coffee and breaks at any interesting points.   We will walk at a moderate pace, according to Google,it is only 10.4 km.
