Bengul Kurtar
MemberYesterday, we would go to Mt Seymour for snowshoeing around Dog Mountain and Suicide Bluff. The destination for the mid-week hike has been changed because of snow storms warnings in Vancouver on Sunday and Tuesday and snow covered city streets. We lost a few hikers’ interests by Wednesday morning…
Five of us at the beginning and six of us after Thunderbird Ridge, enjoyed sunny day, having fresh and soft snow on the ground which made us happier than ever!
Almost at the beginning, we noticed very cool interesting thing in the sky! Apparently, what we see was a sundog or mock sun! This was “caused by the refraction of sunlight off tiny ice crystals in the atmosphere” (-https://www.livescience.com/26402-sundogs.html).
If you are interested in seeing my perspective from our snowshoe trip, here is the link to see them: https://www.flickr.com/photos/benrose/albums/72157703365348702
If you have an Instagram account, you could be able to see Murat’s whole picture of Sundog: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt17oc8BKqo/
Hope to see you on the trails!

KeymasterThank you Bengul for choosing the perfect day for our mid week hike yesterday… it is definitely my best SS hike of the season!!!
We were granted with prefect weather and very spectacular moments of mother nature… Thank you Bengul and Murat capturing them.
One last view I like to add was the moon rise just before we headed into the cafeteria… this really completed our best 2019 SS hike.
Thank you all.
