Under sunny skies and cool temps, six adventuresome riders set out along the banks of the Fraser River towards the Pitt River Bridge.  We followed the Let’s Go Biking Cranberry Trail route along the Pitt River and backroads of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge and passed many cranberry bogs – mostly inactive.  We lucked out 3 times seeing harvest activity – sometimes at a distance and sometimes up close.  We enjoyed a picnic lunch along the Alouette River Dike while watching the goings-on at the Pumpkin Patch.  From there, we rode bike routes on streets to Osprey Village along the Fraser near the Golden Ears Bridge.  From there, 3 riders chose to ride the Pitt River Greenway and got to see the third active cranberry bog, while the 3 others rode the smooth country roads and saw blueberry farms, antique farm trucks and horses in the pastures.  We all met up again at the Pitt River Bridge for the return to our cars.  Thanks to a great team of explorers for a beautiful day!
