Thank you Barry for organizing this hike!
Eight of us met at Park Royal North Park & Ride spot before 8 am. The Park’n Ride parkade was busy with my other friends from Nature Vancouver and B hikers planned to go Garibaldi Lake. We started to hike (from High Falls Creek road) around 10:30 am. We were at the peak (at 1,871 m) around 12:30 pm. The wind was blowing. Clouds were moving fast. Garibaldi Lake and Daisy Lake were visible through gaps in clouds. Before arriving the peak, it had started snowing. The mountains have their own weather systems. Everyone found their spots near one of the microwave towers (repeater site). After munching our sandwiches within couple of minutes, we were ready for descending. Going down was quicker as always. We arrived to trailhead around 2:30 pm.
High Falls Creek road, which takes you to the trailhead is very rough. There are a lot of new waterbars along the way. A new rockslide through top was passable but scary…
