Eight of us started out on this hike from Park Royal led by Naomi Ross. Round trip was approximately 4 hours/ 12 km return. Weather was intermittent showers. We started at Park Royal and headed up the left side of the Capilano River. Lots of people and dogs on the trail as usual. However the trail is wide for the majority of the trail, allowing people to pass with ease for social distancing. Thankfully; the rain held until we reached the Cleveland Dam. The trail was in good shape all around and the trip had good views of the River. We had lunch in the Park at the Cleveland Dam and then we did a loop trail before heading back on the up and down trail. On the way back we saw a couple of kayakers down in the River by the fish hatchery. One of them flipped completely over numerous times. The Capilano Suspension Bridge grounds were beautifully lit up with Christmas lights.
