Nine hikers started as scheduled, 9:00 at the Rabbit Lane Trailhead. Six hikers had never done this trail. It was cloudy. Seemed like there were more dogs than people accompanying them. High point of the trip was a pileated woodpecker at the hatcheries, maybe 6 metres up a dead tree, doing its thing totally oblivious to the fascinated observers.
