A rockslide in January 2021 necessitated a change from starting the trail from Park Royal (Plan A) to the Rabbit Lane trailhead (Plan B). Three of us, including one new member, met at the Rabbit Lane trailhead at 8:45 as planned. However, the northbound trail was closed because of construction on the bridges along the path. So, we decided on Plan C, which was to walk to the dead-end of Rabbit Lane, and to continue walking on the western edge of the trail to the Glenmore Drive  Baden-Powell trailhead. Plan C was obstructed by rockslide danger on the trail we had chosen. So, we opted for Plan D, which was to drive to the Glenmore Baden-Powell trailhead.  This turned out to be a lovely option. It was a new trail set of trails for all three of us. There were slight showers at the beginning, but they disappeared. There was mist over the Cleveland Dam and the lake was surprisingly low. We took the first bridge south of the hatchery to get to the second canyon viewpoint, and then took the Giant Fir trail. Along with the impressive Douglas Fir for which the trail is named, the fallen trees were notable for their size. We returned by way of the Shinglebolt trail, most of it being new for all of us as it got us back to the trailhead just about noon.
