Camel Mountain had a blanket of snow on it today

Once upon a sunny day Thursday in January, January 9, 2020 to be precise, a group of seven rode the crowded Gondola up at 10 am.

 

Up up up they went wearing their newly minted Grouse passes proudly. At the skating rink they dawned their micro spikes and up up they spiked on the crunchy well formed snow above the clouds.

 

Crown Mountain was full-on snow covered but Camel Mountain had a blanket of snow on its head and body. It was exquisite.

 

Lynne our brand new leader likes camels even if she won’t let on. She was terrific, caring without micromanaging. We had a fifteen minute lunch break on the ridge and a second lunch in the chalet. We had three visitor spikers with us and one new member. When we returned down down down it was socked in, visibility nothing. And so it goes.
