KeymasterThank you Lesley for guiding us with some flower IDs on July 5.
Both slow and moderate pace groups started 10:30 at Strawberry Flats parking lot heading to Poland Lake. We all enjoyed the cooler temperature and hiked leisurely to appreciate the nature. There are some but not abundant flowers along the lower trail.
Once we started to climb, the group decided to separated as the paces are different.
9 of us went ahead and reached Poland Lake after 1pm for lunch. We are lucky to enjoy the bug free 1/2 hour break. None of us wanted to swim as the water is too cold. We could still see the snow on the opposite side of the lake. However, the wonderful breezes were refreshing and staying at the bank of the lake is just serene. The group started descending around 2 pm.
We rejoined the others at the parking lot and headed to the Lighting Lake for an after hike swim/dip.
In the next 2 days, I have taken photos of many flowers that I could not remember the names.
I have put them together in this album and asked Lesley to ID for me.
Here is the link to it, you may want to test your botany knowledge… have fun!
