Seven bikers started at Trout lake for this 44 km ride. I always start the trip with a visit to the “chicken coop serial killers house” next to trout lake.
In my recchi, I had difficult locating this house and asked a woman on the street if she knew where this house was…she looked at me stunned because back in the 1920, her great-uncle was the LAPD Officer that arrested this murderer in the forests of North Vancouver. She had no idea that murderer grew up in her neighbourhood.
To find the house address, I then emailed the City of Vancouver’s heritage consultant, John Atkins and he sent me the address of that infamous house.
If you come on my trout lake rides, I will show you that house too.
For some, this was there first time on a bike this year and it was a bit challenging. One member dropped out after Metrotown, another before the Willington bike route, two others at the Adanac bike route, and finally one other at the Central Valley trail. Only two of us did the full trip, back to Trout lake.
Next weekend, we will bike to Victoria and back in a day…yes, another great biking adventure a waits us (cancel if wet). Hope to see you out on a NSH bike trip!
