Six riders set out from the border under cloudy skies and cool temps. Our route took us along quiet country back roads – rolling enough to keep us warm – to our coffee stop at Haggens in Ferndale. Soon after, we were on our way again to Bellingham Bay and the Farmers Market. The market was bustling and we all enjoyed the variety of flowers, vegetables, crafts, entertainment and the many tempting food offerings. After lunch, we headed back north towards Blaine and a much-anticipated stop at Edaleen Dairy for well-deserved ice cream in the sunshine. Thanks to all who turned out – Berni, Jenni, Chris, Janet and Ken – for a really nice day. And many thanks to Janet who provided us with delicious home-made energy balls during our break for the border. Holly.
