Twelve hikers started at the trail head on the cloudy Sunday morning at 7:45. We went at a steady pace with minimum stops, only re-grouped at the view point before going up the ridge. Two mighty souls reached the summit around 11:30 and headed out Mount Burwell to have their private bug free lunch. All of us except one summited no later than 1:00 -all at our own comfortable pace. The weather was cloudy with periods of rain to cool us down. The trail was well marked and at descent hiking condition. After scrambling to the top, we were treated with the view of the north shore mountains and the two “lost” hikers coming down from Mount Burwell. Most of the group made their way down with no incident, completed the 21 km hiking in more or less than 10 hours. I have to thank everyone coming out and making the effort to hike as a group while fighting against the horde of bugs. My big THANK YOU goes to Gabriel and Paul. They offered tremendous help to two fellow hikers – one on the way up and one coming down the endless steep slopes. Both left the park before the park gate closed and were brought back to FK in one piece… The End of my first led C Hike Report.
