We drove through thick clouds into pure sunshine to the top of hollyburn’s x-country ski area. Nine of us hiked 12 km and visited unique historic cabins built in the forest, from the doghouse to the girl guides’ cabins. Some were well maintained and others not. We bumped into a former BCMC president and he said BCMC got permission 1.5 weeks ago to build a brand new cabin in this area. It took four years of negotiations. Once built, we can stay in that cabin overnight. Also he said they are not members of FMCBC and only pay $7 per person for their liability insurance versus the $14 we each pay with our FMCBC membership.
