On this sunny morning, seven of us started hiking at about 9:30am from the Old Buck Trailhead to Quarry Rock via the Baden Powell Trail. This trail crosses various creek beds through forested areas. After a gentle uphill on the Old Buck Trail, the BPT is mostly downhill. Many people were already on Quarry Rock although the trail traffic along the way had been quite light. We found a lovely shady spot for lunch and hiked back on this cool and shady trail to the parking lot. The round trip including water and lunch breaks took us about 2.75 hours. On the return, the BPT is gently uphill and the OBT is downhill. It is a refreshing hike on a sunny day.
