Multiple-day local and international trips๐บ๐ธ๐ฏ๐ต๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฎ๐น
This year, in addition to our summer camp in the Kootenays, we have a cycling trip to SaltSpring Island, a hiking trip to Austria, a hiking trip to Sierra Nevada in US, and helihiking North of Pemberton.
For next year, a cycling trip to Italy is already full and we hope that there will be more events listed on our Schedule. If you plan a personal trip and you would like other club members to join you, please contact Diane Whiteley or Cristina Jacob and they will list the event on the Schedule. The trip will then become a club event and participants will benefit of additional insurance provided by the club affiliation to the FMCBC.

These people reached out to us- have a look at their message!
โMy name is Sara, and I am reaching out on behalf of the Sea to Sky Invasive Species Council, a non-profit that works to minimize the threat of invasive species that negatively impact the environment, economy, and human health in the Sea to Sky Region.
We run a campaign called โPlay, Clean, Goโ which advises outdoor recreationists to clean all mud, seeds, and plant fragments from themselves and their gear before moving to new areas, to prevent the spread of invasive species. This is particularly important for hikers, climbers and trail runners in the Sea to Sky since many of them travel between different trail networks within and beyond the region. Often without realizing it, seeds, burs, and plant parts can get caught in clothing, hiking boots and trail shoes and transported from one trailhead to the next. This โhitchhikingโ is a major cause of invasive species spread, causing harm to the biodiversity of the habitat they are introduced to.โ
