This is the first announcement of the NSH summer camp for 2020. This year we will be going to the Northern Cascades, also known as the Alps of North America.

The camp will start Saturday July 18 and will end Sunday July 26.

As we had done in 2019, the camp will be in two locations. The first five nights will be in Rockport, Wa, about 50 km east on Hwy 20, and the next three nights will be in Glacier near Mt Baker. Both destinations are less than 3 hours from Vancouver.

A preliminary hiking schedule has already put together and includes hikes to Cascade Pass , Sahali Arm, Hidden Lake Lookout, Cutthroat Pass, Railroad Grade and Park Butte, Maple Pass and Easy Pass, Skyline Divide and Heliotrope Ridge. Each day we will offer a B (5-7 hours) hike and a C( more than 7 hours) hike. Several shorter hikes will be offered for rest days.

A further planning meeting is planned for April when the hiking schedule will be finalized and hike leaders will be appointed/solicited.
